The dartboard is divided into 20 target sections as shown in the image to the right. The numbers written along the outside of the dartboard are that target's basic points, and each target is divided into 4 parts of varying points.

The outermost ring is called the "double ring" and doubles the basic points, the inner ring is known as the "triple ring" and triples the number of basic points, and the remaining parts are called "single" and have the same value as the basic points.

The center is also divided into 2 parts: the central (black) portion is called the D-Bull (double bull) and is worth 50 points, while the outer (red) portion is called the S-Bull (single bull) and is worth 25 points.

Basically, 1 round consists of 3 throws. The total points from these 3 throws become the score for the round. When 3 throws are over, the darts are gathered and the next person takes their turn.

The correct way to remove a dart from the dartboard is to grasp it from above as if wrapping it in your hand, and then twist it clockwise and out.
